It’s been a real pleasure to be able to capture so many wonderful musical performances at Birkenhead High School Academy over the past couple of days. It was a pleasure to be working with children from St. Werburgh’s and St. Columba’s Primary school in Chester yesterday. They have been undertaking a community arts project. Part of this project involved portrait photography, capturing local people who contribute, care for and shape Chester.
The venue was the ornate, oak-panelled, assembly room in Chester Town Hall. It provided plenty of space to meet and photograph the special guests. The children were very well behaved and took lots of photos themselves and hopefully learned something of the art of portrait photography in the process.
The photographs will form part of a larger art exhibition displayed in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre in July.
Delighted to be involved in this wonderful arts fusion project, which is this year expanding from Chester into North Wales and the Wirral. Super concerts at Wiliam Aston Hall in Wrexham earlier this week. I’m looking forward to Amasing coming to Storyhouse in Chester next month and then the Floral Pavillion up in New Brighton in June.

I seem to capture a lot of musical events. It is always a pleasure to be invited to attend and photograph live performances, so I was especially pleased to be asked to take photos for the Chester Youth Symphony Orchestra again as they were putting on their second piano concerto last month. A delight to be able to witness such an array of young, talented artists in concert.
It was great to see and hear Fifth Element again when they visited Chester on Black Saturday. They offer a most entertaining and polished performance with expressive energy and drive… this is sounding a little bit too much like a music examiner’s report, so check out the photos and go and hear them yourself.
They perform regularly throughout the North West!
The festival provided a wonderful range of performances which it was a delight to be able to observe through the lens. I am currently in the process of editing 100s of photos from this event. However please do check the gallery as some images are already available.
Later this month (Saturday 23rd March, 2019) , I will be covering the Wirral Festival of Music, Speech and Drama who will be celebrating their 70th year. It is always a treat to hear the variety of talented performers on display and also to capture some of the special moments which these performances evoke. I will also be on hand for formal group shots and trophy shots and individual portraits as required.
Print products and images downloads will be available to purchase from my client gallery after the festival however images can be ordered directly from myself on the day at a discounted rate.

If last year was anything to go by, this will be a wonderful event to be involved in!
1000 children, from over 30 schools, taking part in singing workshops, resulting in three evening concerts with a live band at Chester’s premier arts venue, Storyhouse. Amasing will be taking place again from 11th-13th March 2019.
